No. You or someone you trust just needs to provide access to the vehicle. If the inspector arrives and there’s no one there within 20 minutes, the appointment will be marked as missed. You can reschedule the appointment with our VOS team or directly through your portal.
Yes. You can authorize anyone you trust to meet the inspector on your behalf and provide access to the vehicle. They don’t need to know anything about the car — just be available.
Usually 15–20 minutes. It’s quick and straightforward. And no — we don’t do test drives.
We review the results and finalize your offer. If nothing changes, we move straight to the Bill of Sale so you can get paid faster.
If the inspection shows something that affects the value, we’ll update the offer and explain why. You can take your time to review it — you’re never locked in.
We send a secure ACH payment as soon as everything is signed. All ACH details are encrypted, and we don’t store any sensitive bank info. You can update your payment credentials directly in the portal.
You’ll need a valid ID and your vehicle title if you own the car outright. If you have a loan, we only need your lender information and payoff letter. Any additional documents will depend on your state, and we’ll guide you if anything else is needed.
We handle the payoff directly with your lender. Here’s how it works:
Loan is paid off: You get the full offer amount.
Loan is lower than your offer: We pay off the loan, and you get the remaining balance.
Loan is higher than your offer: We send your lender the offer amount, and you pay the rest to close out your loan.
Yes. You can get an offer at any time, even if you still have a loan. We simply handle the payoff during the process. We only ask that you provide a payoff letter and who your lender is to get our process started.
Yes. We purchase most vehicles, running or not. The inspection just helps us confirm the value.
We buy vehicles with previous accidents all the time. Accidents do not disqualify your car, and they don’t stop you from getting a strong offer. Our inspection simply helps us understand the current condition so we can price it fairly and accurately.
No. Cleaning it is optional. A clean car can make it easier to see certain areas, but our inspectors look past dust and clutter. We’re focused on the actual condition, not whether it needs a wash or requires fixes.
Often yes. Same day or next day appointments are available depending on your location and inspector availability. We allow you to enter two availability options when scheduling your inspection. We do our best to accommodate your schedule. All of the scheduling process can be handled through the Customer Dashboard.
Yes. If your bank has it, that’s fine — we’ll work directly with them. If you own the vehicle outright, we will send you a free prepaid envelope for you to mail us the title. The title must be signed by the owner of the vehicle.
Yes. As long as you can show proof of ownership, we can still purchase the vehicle. Expired registration does not affect your ability to sell to VOS.
Yes. Insurance is not required for the sale. You can still complete the entire process even if the vehicle is uninsured.
Yes, we do. We contact your leasing company to verify the buyout amount and walk you through how the process works. Many customers are surprised at how simple this step is.
Yes. We regularly work with business owners and fleets. Whether it’s one vehicle or several at once, we streamline the paperwork and make the sale quick and efficient.
You can still move forward. We’ll help you request a replacement title from your DMV and explain what to expect. Many customers start the process while waiting for the duplicate title to arrive.

Once your payment is processed, we schedule the pickup right away. You don’t have to worry about coordinating anything — our team handles the pickup and transport for you. We ask that you remove all belongings from your vehicle and disassemble the license plates.
If you own the vehicle outright, payment is sent as soon as we receive the keys and the title. If there’s a loan, payment is released once the payoff is confirmed and all documents are signed.
Absolutely. You can submit as many vehicles as you’d like. Each vehicle will receive its own offer and inspection so you can decide what works best for you.
Most customers are fully paid within one or two days. Timing depends on how quickly the inspection happens and whether there is a loan payoff. If the vehicle is owned outright, payment is usually extremely fast. We always try to get you in and out with a check in hand!

Yes. Even if you accept your offer in person, we can still schedule a pickup at your home or workplace. We make the process as easy and convenient as possible.
Very few things. As long as you legally own the vehicle and can provide proper documentation, we can usually buy it. Even cars that are damaged, not running, or have cosmetic issues are often accepted.
