Come to you or walk in: what to expect at your inspection

After you get your offer, the next step is a quick inspection to confirm the car's condition. It is not a hard sell or a long ordeal. Here is what actually happens.

Come to you, or walk in

You choose. We can come to your home or workplace, or you can walk into the store. Same-day or next-day appointments are often available depending on your location and inspector schedule.

Booking a same-day or next-day slot

Once your offer is ready, you pick a time from your account. Close to our Lancaster base, same-day inspections are common; farther out, next-day is typical. If you walk in, you do not need an appointment during offer hours, though booking one guarantees an inspector is free when you arrive.

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes

The inspector looks over the car inside and out and does a short test drive. That is it. You do not need to be there yourself, as long as someone you trust can provide access to the vehicle.

If you cannot be there

You can authorize anyone to meet the inspector on your behalf, a spouse, a neighbor, a coworker. They just need to give access to the car and the keys. One thing to know: an appointment is marked missed if nobody arrives within 20 minutes, so if plans change, reschedule from your account rather than letting it lapse.

You do not need to detail it first

Cleaning the car is optional. We are focused on the actual condition, not whether it just had a wash. Previous accidents or repairs do not disqualify your car either.

What happens after

We review the results and finalize the offer. If nothing changes, you move to the Bill of Sale. If the inspection turns up something that affects value, we explain it and update the offer, and you can take your time to review it.

If the offer changes

This is the question people worry about most, so here is the honest version. The offer only changes if the inspection shows something that affects the value, and when it does, we tell you exactly what and why. You are never pressured to accept on the spot, and you can cancel at any point before you sign the Bill of Sale.

Signing, payment, and pickup

Once you accept, you e-sign the paperwork from your account and we send payment by secure ACH. If there is a loan, we pay the lender directly first. Then we schedule the pickup right away and move the car with our own transport, so you never have to drive it anywhere.
