VIN On Spot

The rules of the road

Terms of Service

These terms cover requesting an offer, selling us your vehicle, and using your customer portal. Plain English, because you should be able to read them.

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Who we are

VIN On Spot ("VOS," "we," "us") buys vehicles directly from their owners. We operate at 1356 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603, and you can reach us at 717.945.3526.

By requesting an offer or using our portal, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who can use this service

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to sell the vehicle: you own it, or you are authorized to act for the owner. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us about the vehicle, including mileage, condition, title status, and any loan against it.

Offers are estimates until we inspect the vehicle

This is the most important thing on this page. The first number we give you is a preliminary offer, based on the information you provide and current market data. It is not a contract and not a guarantee.

After we inspect the vehicle in person, we may issue a revised offer that reflects what we actually find: condition, mechanical issues, tires, body damage, title problems, or a mileage difference. The revised offer can be higher or lower than the preliminary one.

In some cases we may waive the inspection and make an offer final up front. When we do, we tell you so explicitly at the time.

Offers expire

Every offer carries an expiration date, shown with the offer. Vehicle values move, so once an offer expires it can no longer be accepted, and we would need to issue a new one. An expired offer is not a price we are obligated to honor.

Electronic signatures and documents

You can sign the bill of sale, odometer disclosure, and power of attorney electronically in your portal. By signing this way you agree, under the federal E-SIGN Act and applicable state law, that your electronic signature is as legally binding as a signature in ink.

Every document you sign is sealed with a signature certificate recording your name, the date and time, your IP address, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the exact document you signed. That fingerprint is checked again at the moment of signing, so a signed document cannot be altered afterward without detection. You can download your signed copies from your portal.

Getting paid

We pay by ACH transfer to the bank account you provide. Before we release payment:

  • Your documents must be fully signed.
  • If there is a loan on the vehicle, we need your 10-day payoff letter.
  • We must have received the keys and the title paperwork.

If you owe more on the vehicle than our offer (negative equity), the difference has to be cleared before the sale can complete. We will tell you the amount and how to resolve it.

You are responsible for giving us correct bank details. ACH transfers to a wrong account can be slow or impossible to recover, and we are not liable for a payment delayed or lost because the account information you gave us was incorrect.

The vehicle and its title

You agree that the vehicle is sold as-is, that you have disclosed known material defects, and that you can deliver clear title free of undisclosed liens. If the title turns out to be branded, salvage, or encumbered in a way you did not disclose, we may adjust or withdraw our offer.

Until the sale completes and we take possession, the vehicle remains yours, along with responsibility for insurance, registration, tickets, and tolls.

Either of us can walk away before the sale completes

You may decline any offer for any reason, at any time before you sign. We may decline to purchase a vehicle at our discretion, including after inspection. Neither of us owes the other anything for choosing not to proceed.

Your portal account

Your portal shows your offer, your documents, and your deal status. Keep your login secure and do not share it. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to your account. We may suspend access if we suspect misuse.

Accuracy of the site

We work to keep the information on this site accurate, but we do not warrant that everything is complete or error-free. VIN decoding and vehicle specifications come partly from third-party data (including the NHTSA vehicle database) and may not be perfect. The service is provided on an as-is basis without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VIN On Spot is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or the sale process. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the business changes. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will not apply retroactively to a sale already completed.

Privacy

How we handle your personal information, including your bank details, is described in our Privacy Policy.
